Ok, so I have been a little disappointed with Aptana's support for JavaScript libraries. I have read about it, seen it in demos, but it has never seemed to work on my machine. I was fortunate enough to run into an Aptana Rep at The Ajax Experience this weekend and I mentioned to her that I love Aptana but think the Dojo support is vaporware. She was really nice, after giving me a t-shirt, Aptana Orange, she explained to me that the Dojo Support is not available as an update, but is instead a plugin. If are a lifetime client side guy (By that I mean you started on Dreamweaver and never looked back) you are probably like...."what?" So let me explain how to get Dojo support in Aptana.
Fire up Aptana and open the Plugins Manager. Scroll through the list of plugins until you find "Support for Dojo 1.1.1". If your list has a different version of Dojo, just wait a second for it to update. Right click on this line and select install. Click all the way through until you have the plugin installed. Restart Aptana. Now you would think you'd be rockin' right? Not really. Now go to Window -> Preferences -> Aptana -> Editors -> JavaScript -> Code Assist . Now check the Dojo box and hit apply.
Happy Dojo'ing
